Bludit
For my blog, I was looking for a system that was more streamlined than WordPress, such as Bludit. In my search, I also looked at some of the so-called flat-file CMS systems. They’re called “flat-file” because these systems don’t use a database.
That's why such systems are well-suited even for slightly less powerful computers with limited system resources. While that doesn't necessarily apply in my case, WordPress was a bit too bloated for my liking.
Bludit
After searching and testing various systems, I came across BluditCMS. This system is also a flat-file system that doesn’t require a MySQL database. Simply upload all the data to the server, open the homepage, and the system is installed in just a few seconds.
What stands out compared to WordPress is how quickly the posts are displayed, which is a
is one of the advantages of such flat-file systems. Admittedly, I had to get used to the unfamiliar way of working with this system at first.
A number of plugins add useful features to the CMS—which is more than enough for me.
If you, too, are looking for a good, fast system for your blog, then I highly recommend this flat-file CMS.
Just give it a try.
Update from October 2023: The blog pages are running on Bludit again; right now, WordPress feels too bloated to me, especially with my nearly 3,000 images in the gallery. That’s why I’m now running the gallery with Piwigo and the blog with Bludit.
