Evolution
Email programs.
After using Linux Mint for a long time, but I could never really get used to the look, so I started looking for alternatives.
Unfortunately, "EmClient," the email client I really liked on Windows, isn't available on Linux. I wasn't able to get EmClient to work satisfactorily even with Wine. It stopped working at the latest when I tried to activate the license.
I had already tried out Evolution when I was first getting started with Linux. Back then, though, I found the program very slow and unstable.
Still, I decided to give Evolution another chance... and I haven't regretted it so far.
Experiences.
The program runs quickly and smoothly, and so far I haven't encountered any problems despite heavy use.
Integrating external "sources" such as address books and calendars also works flawlessly. For me, these include the address book and calendar on my Synology NAS, Nextcloud, and Google.
Version.
I'm using the regular version from the standard repository here, not the slightly newer Flatpak version. I had problems scanning emails with ClamAV using the Flatpak version. This works without any issues with the version from the repository.
Virus scan.
A separate article on scanning emails with ClamAV will be published soon in the Linux category.
